What is it?

CoderScore® is the credit score equivalent of a medical coders skills.  It uses a unique process to generate a three-digit number using a mathematical algorithm that predicts the likelihood of a coder’s accuracy.

Calculated how?

The CoderScore® is calculated by aggregating crowdsourced data with categorized data points from four frameworks: 1) Employer Satisfaction 2) Training and Certification 3) Volume of Experience 4) Emotional Intelligence.

Does it change?

Yes. Coder’s apply for an initial score, which gathers the baseline data used to calculate the first score.  The CoderScore® will update with each new qualifying event (such as new training, new certification, new employer review.)

What about new coders?

New coders without experience must hold the Certified Expert Professional Fee Generalist (CEPFG) credential. Most new coders have a neutral score. Qualified professional references and employer review data are quickly integrated to demonstrate the coder’s actual abilities so new coders are not overlooked by employers.
